Mo Willems is by far my favorite picture book author. I discovered this love while I was working as a page in the children's department long, long, ago. I had read Knuffle Bunny, and while I enjoyed the story I was not overly impressed. My love for Mo Willems stories came when I read Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus. This book made me laugh so hard my stomach ached from the effort! After I read this I decided to explore Mo Willems other books. The Elephant and Piggy books are, in my opinion, even funnier than the pigeon books. Today I Will Fly challenges the common phrase of,"When Pigs Fly." In this book Willems not only weaves a story that is enjoyable for readers of all ages but sends the message that with a little help anything is possible, even flying pigs.
